Considering that Redglare is pretty much entirely headcanon, I figured I'd explain some of it here.
H1STORY
Like all trolls, Redglare had to complete the trials of the brooding caverns before she was allowed to acquire a lusus. Trolls of her blood colour (teal) are generally expected to be picked out by low-level lusii - in Redglare's case, she was allied with Pyralspite, a relatively rare and incredibly high-maintenance dragon lusus. This is one of many reasons why Redglare's high-blooded superiors believed that she had plans above her station.
The major reason that Pyralspite was so difficult to care for, at first, was that she hadn't actually hatched yet. Dragon lusii can remain incubated for centuries, until their immediate environment is heated up enough to allow them to hatch. Redglare was forced to raise herself - at which point, she discovered the cult of the Signless. Although the cult was against Alternian law - and even then, Redglare held the law to be the best thing ever - it's teachings imbued her with a strong sense of JUST1C3 that remained with her until her untimely death.
On the eve of Redglare's 8th Sweep, Pyralspite hatched during a forest fire, and promptly (if accidentally) blinded Redglare with her glowing red eyes. Luckily for Redglare, Pyralspite was more than willing to help her learn to use her remaining senses - primarily smell and taste - to navigate the world.
---
Redglare eventually became a legislacerator, a rank described by Mindfang as being way above her station as a teal blood. Although Redglare never rose above 'Neophyte' level - either because her blood colour forbade it, or because she had only just become a legislacerator at the time of her death - it can be assumed that she had a natural talent for her job, as she was the one who successfully hunted down Marquise Spinneret Mindfang and (nearly) brought her to justice.
Throughout her career Redglare remained a devotee of the Signless - something which if found out, would have cost her her job and her life. Mindfang somehow gathered intel on this, and used it to murder her captor. At Mindfang's trial, the gamblignant used mind-control powers to turn the spectators (many of whom were from lower hemocastes) against Redglare, using Redglare's signless necklace as evidence that she had been plotting against them all along. The crowd stormed the gallows, leaving Redglare hanging from her own rope.
Somehow, Pyralspite escaped the carnage and found refuge with the Summoner, who used her to kill Mindfang during the lowblood revolt. Justice served.

Like her descendant, Terezi Pyrope, Redglare incorporates the numbers of the blind prophets (413) into her typing/writing quirk. Although hubtops weren't invented at the time, Redglare's writing was structurally similar to Terezi's, mainly in that she wrote in 4LL C4PS and was fond of leaving... DR4M4T1C P4US3S at particularly exciting moments.
Redglare is more serious than her descendant, and consequently uses fewer smilies. When she does use them, they are constantly disapproving :

etc.
Despite this, Redglare displays the same penchant for drama as Terezi does. 90% of legislaceration is persuasion, and there's nothing the Grand Highblood enjoys more than a show trial. Redglare is not AS quick to accuse as Terezi, but is liable to run with her gut instinct on a case. She also enjoys playing mind-games, and secretly believes that she is better at them than most people.
The cult of the Signless left a big imprint on Redglare's personality - most notably on her sense of justice and her desire for total equality with regards to the hemospectrum. She's also particularly fond of bright red things, which is good, because nowadays it's basically all she sees.
Redglare does disagree with the Signless' teachings on one key point : she believes that criminals should be punished, not forgiven. It's one of the main reasons she became a legislacerator, having been inspired by tales of justice being served in inventive and gruesome ways. Signless devotee or not, Redglare is still a troll, and can be excessively cruel at times. Especially if she has reason to think it's deserved.
She also suffers from Arachnophobia. But that's top secret.

The Alternian Justice System is as complex as it is cruel. In a typical court case, there is no defense team - Legislacerators are exclusively prosecutors, and their role is to either punish the guilty party or implicate someone else. Particularly corrupt legislacerators have been known to take bribes to decide the fate of the defendant - Redglare, of course, has never partaken in such a nefarious practice.
Occasionally, trials have taken place that have no defendant, only crimes that must be solved. These trials are rarely well-attended, because legislacerators have a habit of tracing the 'evidence' back to members of the crowd - usually low-bloods, but really, everyone is at risk - including the legislacerator themselves, if they're accused of slowing down the course of justice.
The ultimate decision on all cases is down to the Grand Highblood, the muscle of the courtroom. The Grand Highblood heads a team of Subjuggulators, who are responsible for their own seperate courtrooms throughout Alternia. The Grand Highblood himself usually only presides over cases that are a threat to Her Imperial Condescension herself.
90% of legislaceration is not Adherence to the Law, but Entertainment. However the courtrooms worked in ancient times, in Redglare's day they were intended as a way to subdue the masses and keep the highbloods from rampaging around killing everyone.
